CLT kits arrive flat-packed and bolt together in days. Finnish start-up CrossLam Living shipped 300 prefab apartments to Stockholm in July 2025. Build time fell from 14 weeks to 6 weeks. The Paris city council approved 2,000 CLT social-housing units in August 2025. Each unit locks carbon equal to 12 years of household electricity. The prefab approach cuts on-site labor by 40%.
