DHL Supply Chain opened a new 35,000 m² center with robots in Cologne in August 2025. This hub takes care of 12,000 orders each day and gets 99.8% right. Early numbers show that customer retention goes up by 22% if delivery comes within three hours. The Federal Ministry of Transport gave EUR 60 million in grants for last-mile service in June 2025, which helped to cut city delivery emissions by 18%.

Pix-Like Instant Payments Lock in Loyalty

Deutsche Bundesbank started Pix-style payments for grocery apps in July 2025. Edeka has a “Pay-Now” button that helps people pay much faster. The average basket size went up by 15% when people added snacks that were suggested to them. DM-Drogerie Markt looks at past buys to auto-refill pet food. After starting this, there was a 33% rise in repeat orders. The Federal Cartel Office gave the OK for data-sharing rules in August 2025. Retailers can share baskets that are anonymised so they can make their algorithms better, but still follow GDPR.
